Thumbnail Designer - YouTube and Podcasts (Contract | Part-Time) ID-11922

About the role:

 

We’re looking for a creative and experienced Thumbnail Designer who is familiar with the YouTube space to create visually compelling designs with a high CTR for our 5 YouTube channels (BiggerPockets Real Estate—with 1.2M subscribers, BiggerPockets Money, Real Estate Rookie, On the Market, and PassivePockets). As a thumbnail designer you will be responsible for developing winning visual concepts, compositing and designing those concepts, collaborating in production meetings, and using analytics to refine the designs for both podcast episode art and YouTube directly. A strong understanding of YouTube best practices, ability to have extremely fast turnaround times, photo manipulation, and A/B testing will help you to succeed in this position. Most importantly, we need someone who is a team player, is obsessed with YouTube, understands our audience and their unique needs in the real estate space, and is always striving to improve.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Design thumbnails for at least 11 podcasts per week, including YouTube thumbnails, podcast episode artwork, and web thumbnails & 7 YouTube original videos per week

Provide multiple thumbnail design ideas for each piece of content for A/B testing

Design thumbnails live with the team on occasion

Work quickly and efficiently, some of our shows may have a day-of turnaround time as we capture timely information or events

Select the best headshots to match the feel and text of the thumbnail design

Stay up to date with current trends/best practices within the thumbnail space

Collaborating with other team members to generate the best designs possible. This includes idea generation, data review, sharing assets, and providing helpful feedback

About You:

 

3+ years of experience in YouTube Thumbnail Design for high-volume channels

Passionate about all things YouTube

Strong Graphic Design and Text Effects expertise—with an eye for compelling thumbnails

Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, photo editing, or vector art programs

Ability to analyze and interpret Click-through Rate and other YouTube video data for design improvement

Experience working with high-volume YouTube channels

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to meet virtually with producers throughout the week in fluent English

Quick turnaround on thumbnail and podcast art deliverables

Experience in creating podcast show/episode art for high-subscriber channels

Familiar with Google Drive, Airtable, and/or Dropbox is a plus
