We are looking for a Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (Project Hire) to join our Disney Entertainment Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. You’ll be shaping and managing CSR efforts across Disney Entertainment, while aligning with the larger Walt Disney Company’s CSR purpose and business objectives. The position will drive engagement and storytelling around Disney Entertainment’s social impact programs for our communities, consumers and employees through philanthropy, cause marketing efforts, content, and other CSR initiatives across our businesses.

Please note: The anticipated timeline for this temporary assignment is approximately one year.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Disney Entertainment Television (DET) prosocial integrations in all forms (scripted, marketing promotions, employee communications, nonprofit mentions, passive set design, etc.) and provide guidance on authentic integrations.
  • Collaborate with Disney Corporate Communications, Disney Entertainment Communications, and Enterprise Social Responsibility (ESR) teams to engage national, local, and industry media.
  • Pitch Disney Entertainment prosocial stories aligned with CSR priorities to ABC News and OTV/Affiliate stations.
  • Manage Disney Entertainment CSR Marketing Communications strategy development and execution to drive increased awareness of the company’s social impact efforts among priority audiences, inclusive of paid, owned and earned media channels.
  • Lead and produce photo/video content that supports CSR priorities for storytelling externally and internally; research and identify new storytelling opportunities connected to new and existing content and platforms and pitch ideas.
  • Lead bespoke DET cause marketing and prosocial campaign planning/rollout across all DET brands over on-air, digital, social, and experiential activations for company-wide priorities as well as show-specific activations.
  • Support other Manager, CSR to review and advise on content that incorporate sensitive topics (e.g., depression, domestic violence, etc.) to provide feedback and create content disclaimers/resource end cards and guidelines for any response on social media.
  • Develop and lead internal volunteer strategy and execution for DE CSR that drives employee engagement, including the creation of new events, supporting Disney's tentpole volunteer & pre-funded opportunities while partnering with team members responsible for management and execution of volunteer initiatives.
  • Oversee and create screening strategy and manage incoming requests for DET.
  • Directly manage a CSR Coordinator and actively nurture their growth and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least five years of professional experience with demonstrated success in corporate communications, public relations, public affairs, marketing, corporate social responsibility, community relations, or related roles in a nonprofit setting.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with the news media.
  • Ability to conceptualize, draft and execute briefs such that internal and external stakeholders (e.g., agencies) know expectations and how to deliver on high quality program activations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail; experience building PowerPoint/Keynote presentations.
  • Proven experience developing and executing effective social impact programs both internally and externally.
  • Invested in social impact, philanthropy, marketing, and uplifting communities.
  • Leadership competencies to influence and build relationships with partners and stakeholders in a collaborative team environment. Ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision.
  • Solutions-oriented; you can think outside of the box to figure out a challenge
  • Ability to pivot quickly when needed and adapt to changing priorities
