EXPANSIA is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Project Administrator to support our customer to provide a common set of required EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments and enable United States Air Force to transition focus from network operations and on-premise systems and applications to an enterprise-based Azure Cloud environment.

As a Senior Technical Azure Administrator, you will operate and maintain an Azure based, US Government multi-region enterprise platform for the Dept. of the Air Force. This environment is an Information Level 5 (IL5).You will work independently or on very small teams to integrate systems and solutions, triage issues, and prioritize tasks.   

 

The proposed salary range for this position is $105,000 – $138,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be responsible for the installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches, and resolution of software related problems. You will perform system backups and recovery, maintain data files, and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.   
  • You will communicate with executive leadership, present, answer questions, proactively communicate and resolve issues.   
  • You will work with your manager to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. This includes participation in Planning, Backlog refinement and prioritization, and Retrospectives.  You will participate in the full life cycle of activities including deployment and validation efforts to ensure product success and will follow all established processes and standards. 
  • You will be responsible for managing cloud workloads in the day-to-day operations.  You will be responsible for performing various tasks such as planning, designing, managing, supporting, and maintaining cloud computing-related activities
  • You will communicate with executive leadership, present, answer questions, proactively communicate and resolve issues.

  • Ownership: This is a Senior Position within the Program and requires multiple years of relevant experience. It is expected that you work with minimal supervision, are a self-starter and capable of defining and managing your individual tasks and have strong communication skills for partnering and communicating across internal teams to maximize efficiency and success of assigned tasks. 

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required  
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 15+ years relevant experience. Specifically, 5+ years direct experience in Azure cloud network architecture or a related role, preferably in a large-scale cloud environment (e.g., Azure and AWS) 
  • Certification Required: CompTIA Security + (or equivalent)

 

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Experience in network architecture and engineering in a commercial cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), Azure is preferred to AWS. 
  • 5+ years’ experience working with Azure cloud services such as virtual network appliances, Express Routes, Vnets/peering, Network Watcher, VPN, firewalls, NSGs, routing/route tables, Dedicated Hosts, private endpoints, Azure Sentinel, Log Analytics workspace, Bastion, virtual machines and VM images, storage accounts, Azure Key Vault, and Azure DNS  
  • Deploy and manage Azure cloud resources and infrastructure components using automation tools like Azure CLI, PowerShell, Azure Resource Manager and Terraform.  
  • Security: Experience with best practices for the Azure cloud environments, Cloud Computing SRG, Azure PIM, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Conditional Access Policies, Defender for Cloud (DfC), Azure Policy, and Regulatory Compliance such as IL5 and NIST 800-53 Rev 5.  
  • Experience with Azure Governance capabilities with Management Groups, Subscriptions and Resource Groups 
  • Documentation: Strong skills in documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and operational processes and procedures, clearly being able to identify key aspects in your own words, and writing such that others who may not be technical can still understand what is being conveyed. Skills with documenting diagrams with Visio are also preferred. 
  • Operations and Management: Install and update servers with new software and patches.   
  • Infrastructure Provisioning: Manage all the hardware and software required for using cloud-based services.   
  • Deploy and manage cloud resources and infrastructure components using automation tools like AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Terraform.  
  • Security: Implement and maintain security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with security standards and regulations.  
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource utilization issues.  
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.  
  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to track the health and performance of cloud resources. Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues promptly.  
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect data and applications hosted in the cloud.  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support application development and deployment.  
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and operational processes and procedures.
