Senior Full Stack Developer (Remote) id-1447

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Full Stack Developer to operations & maintenance, as well as enhancement activities at Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This role will be responsible for working within an interconnected development team to support the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). This will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

Leads the design, development, and implementation of complex software applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Support the O&M and enhancement of a government system with a changing technology stack

Maintain the ability to flex between software programming languages to align to new requirements

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Work in an agile, multi-disciplined team including frontend specialists, DevOps engineers, automated test engineers, architects, and other developers.

Collaborate with DevOps engineers to take a software factory approach to leveraging and improving continuous deployment pipelines.

Collaborate with automated test engineers to develop integration and end-to-end tests.

Collaborate with your Product Owner, Scrum Master, and team in user story development, backlog refinement, story point estimation, sprint planning, design spikes, task breakdown, daily scrum, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

Create new pages for existing applications based on low and high-fidelity designer wireframes.

For some applications, implement and/or isolate React frontends that integrate with REST APIs (backend is implemented in AWS Gateway, Lambda, and .Net Core.)

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelors Degree and 8+ years experience

3 or more years of experience working on federal contract

3 or more years of experience in JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks/libraries.

2 or more years developing REST API services.

2 or more years of experience in React or equivalent Single Page Application (SPA) framework.

Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and JIRA.

Strong system design, application programming, and “clean code” skills a must.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with varying technical skills.

Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile.

Clearance Required:

Must reside and work within the continental U.S. and have the ability to attain DHS suitability (Must be US Citizen)

Preferred Skills and Experience

Software development/engineering background.

Familiarity with serverless cloud technologies.

Familiarity with AWS.

Familiarity with Python.

Experience supporting DHS development environments
