They are looking for a Public Relations Manager to manage and execute a comprehensive PR strategy, build media relationships. This role will be instrumental in securing high-impact press coverage and positioning of the organization.

What You’ll Do

PR Strategy & Thought Leadership

  • Develop and implement a multi-tiered PR strategy that enhances the CEO’s personal brand and The Mendoza Firm’s reputation.
  • Craft and refine key messaging for press releases, media appearances, and brand communications.
  • Establish the CEO as the go-to expert on immigration law, securing thought leadership opportunities such as Op-Eds, white papers, and panel discussions.
  • Align PR efforts with marketing campaigns, ensuring cohesive storytelling across all channels.
  • Media Relations & Brand Awareness
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, legal correspondents, and influencers in national and international media.
  • Proactively pitch story ideas, interviews, and expert commentary to top-tier media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, Univision, Telemundo, The Guardian, Forbes, BBC News, Al Jazeera, and Politico.
  • Secure high-profile TV, radio, and podcast interviews for the CEO to discuss immigration reform, policy changes, and client success stories.
  • Manage press inquiries, media requests, and interview scheduling to maximize brand exposure.
  • Crisis Communication & Reputation Management
  • Collaborate with the CMO to develop and implement a proactive crisis communication plan to address legal cases, policy controversies, or high-profile immigration issues.
  • Support the CEO as the official spokesperson for The Mendoza Firm in high-stakes situations.
  • Monitor social media sentiment, press coverage, and public perception, responding swiftly to any reputational risks.
  • Event & Speaking Engagements
  • Identify and secure speaking engagements for the CEO at immigration summits, legal conferences, government panels, and academic institutions.
  • Manage The Mendoza Firm’s participation in immigration advocacy events, policy discussions, and nonprofit collaborations.
  • Organize press conferences, media briefings, and panel discussions to position the firm as a thought leader.
  • Content Development & Social PR
  • Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, guest articles, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Collaborate with content and social media teams to repurpose PR coverage into high-impact digital content (videos, blogs, infographics, and Q&A sessions).
  • Develop Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn strategies to amplify the CEO’s voice on immigration law topics.
  • Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with the NGO and Public Strategic Partnership Manager to establish strategic partnerships with NGOs, government entities, and legal advocacy groups to strengthen The Mendoza Firm’s credibility.
  • Work closely with nonprofits, immigration rights organizations, and community leaders to drive awareness and policy change.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners and enterprise clients to position the firm as a key resource for employment-based immigration services.
  • PR Monitoring & Performance Analysis
  • Track, analyze and report regularly on press coverage, sentiment, and media reach to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
  • Use PR tools such as Meltwater, Cision, or Google Alerts to monitor industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide regular PR reports to leadership with insights, recommendations, and upcoming media opportunities.

Is This You?

  • Fluent in Spanish & English (spoken and written).
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, or corporate communications.
  • Proven track record of securing press coverage in top-tier media outlets.
  • Expertise in crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Understanding and familiarity of immigration law and policy trends.
  • Experience working with high-profile individuals, executives, or political/legal influencers.
  • Proficient in PR tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Muck Rack) and media analytics.
  • Bonus: background in public speaking and media training skills, digital PR and influencer marketing are a plus.
  • Bonus: experience in government relations, legal advocacy, or nonprofit PR.
  • Bonus: Strong relationships with Spanish-language media (Univision, Telemundo, BBC Mundo, El País, etc.).
