Summary and Responsibilities:

 

Desktop Software Management (DSM), as part of Digital Workplace Technology, provides integration, certification, deployment for management of software & security patches. DSM maintains a steady focus on the workplace environment with accountability for certification of desktop software for the Customer desktop. Integration and Packaging services include integrating desktop software, application code into standard MSI Package or silent windows MSI installs. The Testing and Certification service will test application packages in a lab environment to ensure applications install, back out, Upgrade, and function as intended within security stack on production environment. Release Management and deployment services schedule and manage the systematic deployment of software applications into the production desktop environment.

Responsibilities may include:

 

Test automated install, upgrade, and back out of applications in Big Fix

Creating/modifying software packages in BigFix or JAMF

Deployment – familiar with deployment of software packages using BigFix or JAMF for Macs

Production Support Customer's Desktop - Thin Clients, Physical Desktops/Laptops and VDI

Change Management - submitting change requests and monitoring changes.

Desktop Engineering – Image provisioning, updates, Thin Clients updates

Vulnerability Management and Software Patching.

Familiar with Big Fix Deployment tool and Microsoft Intune and Change Management process.

Understands and can maintain compliance with Microsoft’s semi-annual Operating System cadence through automation and continual process improvement in the lab and testing environments.

Identify and report any pre-deployment issues and have a good working relationship with the Application Product Owners

Provide software testing and certification consultation to project managers, developers, and system administrators.

Experience with implementing automated testing solutions to increase efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, and productivity.

Maintain testing tools, testing resources and infrastructure report on status testing effort and be able to both follow defined processes and improvise when needed.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

3 - 5 years’ experience in Desktop application testing, Automation, and Quality Assurance testing

Very Strong Knowledge of Big Fix Fixlet Creation, Relevance, and Reporting and JAMF for Macs

Maintain and Manage DSM Test Lab and Network infrastructure and its topology and familiar with all the Hardware Models

Experience on VMWare, vSphere and Citrix for Managing the Virtual Machines environment.

Familiar with Active Directory, Intune, and JAMF along with the Imaging process

Trouble Shooting Skills on Windows O/S and Performance Testing.

Strong knowledge of supporting Windows OS, VDI, Citrix, and Mac Workstations

Knowledge of Scripting a plus like Microsoft’s PowerShell or Bash Script for Mac

College degree or equivalent experience

Strong customer service skills

The ability to work well within small teams and foster relationships with our technology partners

Ability to analyze system issues and requests, and quickly identify the technology issue and appropriate solution

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot a wide variety of desktop application issues and application dependencies

Strong communication skills with both written and verbal.
