National Segment Manager - AG ID-11142


The National Segment Specialist Manager - AG will report directly to the Regional Sales Leader. The Segment Specialist Manager will increase brand recognition and the company footprint in the Segment by creating and nurturing relationships with commercial tire dealers and wholesale distributors on behalf of the company. The Segment Specialist Manager will make an impact on sales and have the ability to sell value based on technical specifications. This position is expected to enjoy building existing and develop new business collaboratively with the Business Development Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The development of specialized new business and long-term growth with existing customers for these Segments as well as regionally important and nationally relevant strategic accounts focused on these Segments

 

  • Responsible for meeting the annual budgeted sales and EBITDA targets for these Segments for designated Region(s).
  • Working with Pricing, Marketing, and other cross-functional departments to drive profitable sales using internal YOHTA tools, external pricing benchmarking, and launching marketing programs throughout the year.
  • Informing the Regional Leaders of Aftermarket Sales and other relevant YOHTA management personnel on strategies for attaining targeted sales and requesting the resources necessary to meet these targets. (example specific target sku programs)
  • Communicating and coordinating with the appropriate salesperson regarding visits, orders, product testing and other customer development activities initiated by and in conjunction with sales/marketing Leaders for dealers and distributers in the Business Development Manager’s assigned region.
  • Establishing new sales opportunities using the following tools: pricing, product demonstrations and testing, competitive market intelligence, Segment Programs, educational training sessions, and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Coordinating with marketing personnel and other sales team members, as needed, to identify, plan, and execute in-field product tests on their designated segment while ensuring procedural compliance and best practices.
  • Creating business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry, researching, and analyzing sales opportunities and coordinating with sales team members to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Maintain and improve customer relationships by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities related to these Segments; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Identify Product improvements or additional new Products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competition.
  • Prepare relevant reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing competitive information.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • Provide in-depth quarterly training with internal personnel to keep staff up to date on key products, performance, programs related to the segment, and explaining key insights in the industry.
  • Provide monthly segment price benchmarking that is accurate and current in the marketplace to marketing and sales leaders against key competitors.
  • Work closely with the YOHTA Demand Planning team to ensure proper monthly product forecasting for both warehouse and direct sales as well as ensuring sellout of overstocked or slow moving inventories.


QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 4 Year College Degree (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of 3+ years of off-highway tire industry experience, or minimum+5 years of experience in the tire industry including with 3+ years’ experience with off-highway tires required.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to visit customers and provide training.
  • Outstanding time management skills with organized habits
  • Sound communication skills and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present factual data in a concise and organized manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs (e.g., SAP, or Sales Systems, etc).
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to present and engage large groups/audiences.


MISCELLANEOUS:

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent domestic travel as required, up to 70% of the time by airplane and car travel.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
