The People Analytics team

  • Integrates into the business as strategic HR analytics partners and anticipates and uncovers stated or unstated needs.
  • Uses our analytics expertise to test, measure, analyze, understand and answer various business questions
  • Provide reporting to help inform on the current state of the business and help facilitate process at scale
  • Connects our understanding across business and HR to deliver data driven products and solutions
  • Provide meaningful insights and recommendations

 

About the role:

Our Data Analysts delve into data, tech, and math to glean business insights. They handle tasks like data wrangling, reporting, visualization, and modeling. This role focuses on Workday development, utilizing its BI features to improve the team member experience and meet our decision makers where they are at, with insights in the flow of their work. Analysts operate in an agile setup, engaging in team ceremonies to meet goals. They employ product thinking to address partner issues effectively, managing the product life cycle. Additionally, they gain domain expertise and apply data management principles like metadata management and data lineage documentation.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Report Development: Design and maintain performant and efficient advanced reports, calculated fields, and custom reports.
  • Dashboard Creation: Develop performant interactive dashboards and discovery boards to deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • PRISM Analytics: Understanding of PRISM Workday product to integrate and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Data Validation: Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports and dashboards.
  • Training and Support: Train end-users on Workday reporting tools.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with Workday enhancements to improve reporting processes.
  • Data Expertise: Explore data sources to develop innovative metrics and measurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Governance and Documentation: Ensure robust documentation of reports, calculations, code, and metadata, adhering to data governance principles to be a good steward of Target’s Workday platform.
  • Strategic Influence: Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business problems into impactful Workday analytics solutions.
  • Leadership: Ability to work independently to turn business problems into data solutions, lead agile ceremonies and serve as a thought leader and mentor for the team

 

About You:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience, ideally with a focus on analytics, computer science, or HR-related fields.
  • 7+ years' experience in data analysis or master’s level education in business analytics, data science, or related disciplines.
  • Proven expertise in Workday tools, including Report Writer, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and PRISM Analytics.
  • Preferred Workday certifications: Workday Pro HCM Reporting, Workday Pro PRISM Analytics
  • Experience with Workday security models and role-based access controls to ensure data governance and privacy.
  • Strong domain knowledge of HR data, processes, and its application in business decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across HR, IT, and business teams to implement and optimize Workday solutions.
  • Self-motivated learner who actively engages in Workday Community forums and stays current with evolving technologies.
  • Prior experience in human resources or people analytics industry

 

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
